Girl Sprays Acid On Lover

Eric Ohemeng, a third-year student of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) is currently battling for his life following an alleged acid attack by his girlfriend.

The suspected attacker, identified as Esther Enyornam Pekyi, allegedly poured the acid on Eric last Thursday dawn near the Madina Rawlings Circle in Accra for breaking up with herEric Ohemeng, 25, who is said to have been in a relationship with the lady for some months now, allegedly suffered the acid burns in the house of the girlfriend after a fierce exchange of blows over the separation.

He is currently on admission at the intensive care unit of the 37 Military Hospital receiving treatment, as the Madina police have mounted a search for Esther.

Information gathered by the paper indicated that the two love birds hired the services of a taxi driver from North Kaneshie to Madina that fateful day.

Upon reaching Madina, Eric reportedly asked the driver to drive to the house of Esther at the Rawlings Circle area before continuing to his house.

The two entered the house while the taxi driver waited in the car for some time.

Some minutes later, Esther allegedly came out to tell the driver to go and come back later for Eric.

The source said the taxi driver went to work for some hours and when he returned and entered the house, he met Eric lying helplessly on the ground with the acid poured all over his face and chest.

The driver rushed the victim to the 37 Military Hospital before the police were informed about the incident.

Confirming the story to DAILY GUIDE, Public Relations Officer of the Accra Regional Police Command, ASP Effia Tenge, said her outfit had intensified its search for Esther, who is believed to be hiding in the Volta Region.

She said as the lovers were fighting, ‘Another person who also attempted to separate the two was injured when the acid was poured on Eric.’

‘This lady, after pouring the acid on the victim, bolted and the policehave intensified their search for her,’she averred.
