Italy’s charismatic footballers, Roberto Baggio and Alessandro Del Piero are expected to arrive in Ghana on Saturday morning to participate in Stephen Appiah’s testimonial match – the same day of the much-respected event.

Del Pierro was a teammate with Appiah at Juventus after signing for the Old Ladies from Parma on a €2 million in the summer of 2003, before the ex-Ghana captain joined Roberto Baggio’s Brescia on loan for the 2003-04 season.

Stephen Appiah’s testimonial match is expected to be graced by top football icons past and present including Emmanuel Adebayor, Nwankwo Kanu, Austin Okocha, Samuel Eto, Aaron Mokoena, Didier Drogba, Yaya Toure, George Weah and Sulley Muntari.

Other international players expected to grace the occasion are AC Milan and Dutch midfielder Nigel De Jong and former Middlesbrough captain George Boateng.

Stephen Appiah XI will play the Black Stars in Testimonial Match at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, June 27, at 4:00pm.
