Stephen Appiah has asked for the presence of Dr. K.K Sarpong in his testimonial match at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium on 27 June.
Appiah invited Dr. Sarpong out of the cordial relationship he has been enjoying with the former boss of the Tema Oil Refinery. He could recall the advise he has been giving players like him on how to invest their monies.
K.K Sarpong impacted greatly to football during his three year term with the Ghana league champions, winning the Ghana Premier League twice and advancing the act of professionalism in football.
Stephen Appiah, who was appointed the skipper of the Black Stars in 2002 will officially bring his career to an end on Sunday in a testimonial game between the Black Stars and Stephen Appiah IX
Several dignitaries like his Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu 11, former presidents J.J Rawlings and John Agyekum Koffour, Members of parliament, etc have been invited to grace the occasion.
Football legends that have been invited to play for Stephen Appiah IX are Robert Baggio, Samuel Oto’o, George Boateng, Sulley Muntari, Emmanuel Adebayor, etc.
