uniBank Ghana Limited has launched a new product, ‘Sika Collect,’ which is aimed at easing the frustration and inconveniences customers go through during cash and cheque transactions.
The product allows customers to deposit their daily sales with agents of the bank who would go around their shops, stalls or kiosks.
The Head, Branch Network of uniBank, Mr Richard Amanpene-Sekyere, at the launch in Accra, said the product was designed to address challenges facing the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and retailers.
“While busy selling at the workplace, you still have to rush to the bank to deposit the daily sales. We, therefore, introduced this product to alleviate the stress customers go through,” he said.
The General Manager, Operations: for uniBank, Mr Clifford Mettle, said ‘Sika Collect’ was aimed at enhancing financial inclusion, to make banking convenient to customers and help imbibe the savings culture in Ghanaians.
He said this demonstrated the bank’s growing interest in improving businesses and banking in the country.
Mobile bankers with tablets, money counting machines and digital printers have been trained to move to individuals and businesses interested in using the product.
The product, which has been piloted in the last four months, is currently available at 15 branches of the bank across the country.
