Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has said in plain words that his national teammate Dede Ayew will make an impact in the English Premier League (EPL).

The former Olympic Marseille winger has joined Premiership side Swansea with many expecting him to replicate his Stade Velodrom form in the EPL.

Gyan, who had a brief but successful stint in the EPL with Sunderland, is one of the celebrities who believe the 25-year old left-footed midfielder will make an impact at the Liberty Stadium.

Currently holidaying in Ghana, and among a galaxy of footballers, musicians and actors and actresses for this year’s Stars Soccer Fiesta in Kumasi this weekend, Gyan said in an interview that “I know Andre will make an impact in the Premiership, he is a tough character.”

Dede, with a little over 60 caps for Ghana and scoring 52 goals in 181 Marseille games, is expected to begin his Premiership journey on August 8 when his side play as guests of Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge.

Tony Yeboah (Leeds United), Alex Nyarko (New Castle), Michael Essien (Chelsea), Asamoah Gyan (Sunderland), Sulley Muntari (Portsmouth/Sunderland), John Mensah (Sunderland), John Paintsil (Fulham/West Ham), and Richard Kingston (Wigan) are some Ghanaian products of the EPL.
