The four-months relationship between Coach Abdul Razak, affectionately called the ‘Golden Boy’ and the Sudanese club has come to an end due to the latter’s to meet their financial obligation.

Sources close to Allsports.com.gh say that Merghani were struggling to satisfy their financial responsibilities to both the technical team and the playing, hence their Physical Trainer, Assistant Coach, Team Doctor and Medical Doctor deserted the club before the first round of the league came to a close.

Again, Al Merghani allowed three of their key foreign-based players to leave because they wanted to balance the books. The players were Frank Mintah from Ghana, Kanoute from Ivory Coast from and Anthony from Cameroon.

As a result of this the ‘Golden Boy’ became jack of all trade in the team and as the club’s financial situation worsened with three months of salary in arrears, the two parties agreed to terminate the contract.

However, the 2003 Ghana Premier League winning coach had to wait for some weeks for the club to pay two months of his salary before leaving to Ghana.

He arrived in the country this week and is currently in Kumasi. Abdul Razak won a Cup title for Al Merghani of Kassala immediately after assuming office as head coach of the Sudanese side, thus would be remembered by their fans for the feat that enabled them to lift him high on their shoulders.
