Watch: Sarkodie drops ‘New Guy’ video featuring Ace Hood

After releasing the audio of his much publicised collaboration with American rapper Ace Hood, Sarkodie has released the video of the song, ‘New Guy’.

The song was released last week, June 10 and it instantly sent Twitter into a frenzy. ‘New Guy’, which is a pure hiphop tune, received mixed reactions.

Hiplife artiste, A Plus described the song as noise and stressed that while he acknowledged Sarkodie’s immense talent, he was disappointed in the outcome of the hugely publicised song.

Another controversial musician, Wanlov the Kubolor also commenting on the song, said Ace Hood’s contribution to the song did not merit the $25,000 that he was reportedly paid. He urged the American rapper to return the $25,000 to Sarkodie and add a Bugatti to the money.

Drama preceded the recording of the song. Sarkodie, born Michael Owusu Addo, was accused of misleading the public after Ace Hood publicly denied his claims that he had contacted Sarkodie to produce the song.

Ace Hood, in a tweet, revealed that he had only agreed to go ahead with the feature after the Ghanaian rapper paid $25,000.

Sarkodie released the visuals of the ‘New Guy’ song Sunday.
