Confession: Coach Sellas Tetteh: In capital letters I have failed

Sellas Tetteh has indicated that he couldn’t live to the billing as the coach of the U-20 team of Ghana when his side participated in the ongoing FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand.

Ghana topped group B of the championship which included pre-tournament favourites Argentina, Austria and Panama

However, they were demolished 3-0 in the round of 16 encounter against their fellow West African counterparts Mali to end their campaign.

Sellas Tetteh, the 2009 World Cup winning coach in this competition has been frank to Ghanaians by voicing out that his performance was far below expectation and won’t be troubled if sacked as coach.

‘In capital letters I have failed. The GFA’s objective was for the team to reach the semifinals. I can’t be there forever as the coach of the team,’ he said.

Sellas Tetteh won the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2009 and also placed 3 in 2013, hence this is his worst performance as coach in the tournament’s history.
