Oyo Police Commissioner Urges Residents To Report Criminal Activities

The Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Katsina, has called on the people of the state to report any suspected criminal activities to the command.

Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan on Sunday. He assured that the safety of such informants was guaranteed.

“Police alone can not do this job; we need people to give us information; these criminals are not ghosts, they live among us.

“I want to assure everyone that the identity of anyone that gives us information will be adequately protected.

“I am aware that people are afraid to report suspected criminals to the police, because they fear that their names could be mentioned.

“I am assuring the people as the number one policeman in this state that the life of such informant is safe.

“I understand that they are afraid that may be the criminals will come back to attack them.

“I am open to the public and anyone with vital information about these evil people should report them to me,” Katsina said.

He advised criminals to desist from their evil acts or leave the state as anyone caught will face the full wrath of the law.
