Chicago Fire attacker David Accam grabs his debut goal for Ghana after coming off the bench to score in their 7-1 thrashing of Mauritius in the 2017 AFCON qualifier on Sunday afternoon in Accra.

The 24-year-old was introduced as late substitute for Leicester City attacker Jeffrey Schlupp and he added his name to the score-sheet scoring the seventh goal with a clean low drive from inside box.

Accam had not scored in four appearances for the Black Stars since marking his debut in Ghana’s 1-0 loss against Uganda in November 2014.

But his superior club form which saw him find the back of the net twice in two games before flying down to Accra for the qualifier propelled him to score his debut goal for Ghana.

The former Helsingborg IF star will fly back to the United States of America to join Major League Soccer side Chicago Fire for their season campaign.
