Government presents medical supplies to three Hospitals

Accra, June 13, GNA – Government has presented quantity of medical supplies to Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, the 37th Military Hospital and Ghana Police Hospital to support the treatment of persons with injuries from the June 3 twin-disaster.

A statement released in Accra indicated that Government has also released some funds to the hospitals for the medical bills of treated persons.

Mr Jonny Osei Kofi, Deputy Chief of Staff, who handed over the 2.5 tonnes of medical supplies, thanked the hospitals for the service they rendered to the victims of the disaster.

He urged the hospitals to inform government through the Ministry of Health if they require any other forms of assistance.

Colonel M. A. Yeboah Agyapong of the 37th Military Hospital thanked government for the donation and expressed gratitude to the President John Dramani Mahama for his personal commitment to support the victims of the disaster.

He commended the President for acting swiftly to take the burden off survivors and their relatives as well as the medical facilities.

The Medical Director of the Police Hospital, Deputy Commissioner of Police S. M. Zakariah also thanked government for the support.
