AU Summit: Buhari Leaves For South Africa Saturday – Presidency

Buhari-TravelPresident Muhammadu Buhari will on Saturday leave Nigeria for Johannesburg, South Africa, to participate in the 25th African Union Summit.

His Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.

According to Adesina, President Buhari would be undertaking his first continental assignment since his inauguration on May 29, 2015 by chairing the meeting of the Peace and Security Committee of the AU summit on Saturday.

He added that Buhari would also be holding a number of bilateral meetings that will consolidate his ongoing drive to secure Nigeria and the neighbouring countries from Boko Haram.

The President is expected back in Nigeria on Tuesday morning.
