Giving back: 3 Black Stars players donate cash to Ashgold

Jonathan Mensah, Fatau Dauda and Mubarak Wakasu on Wednesday gave a gift of $2,500 to the technical and the playing body of their idol club Ashanti Gold after drawing 2-2 with Hearts of Oak.

Hearts of Oak needed a controversial late penalty from skipper Robin Gnagne to settle for a two all against the league leaders Ashanti Gold on match day 16 of the First Capital Plus Premier League at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium, Accra.

Fatau Dauda, who plays his club football for the Obuasi based side, in conjunction with Wakasu Mubarak and Jonathan Mensah, both ex-players of Ashgold after watching their former club drill the Phobians in Accra decided to show their love to the team.

Jonathan Mensah donated $1,000 to the technical bench, while Mubarak Wakasu and Fatau Dauda donated $1,000 and $500 respectively to the players.

The donors are presently in the camp of the Black Stars as they prepare to take on Mauritius on Sunday in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.
