FRSC Disowns Facebook Recruitment Page, Warns Against Scammers

FRSCThe Federal Road Safety Corps has warned Nigerians against an ongoing fraudulent recruitment on Facebook.

The Corps in a statement signed by its spokesperson, Imoh Etuk, said the fraudsters have created a fake recruitment Facebook page with the name of a zonal commanding officer in Abuja, Jonas Agwu, a corps marshal.

According to the statement, the fraudsters extort money from unsuspecting individuals desperate to join the corps.

The fraudsters, in their posts, also indicated various vacancies including Assistant Route Commanders, Superintendent Road Marshals and Road Marshals.

Also enquiry lines 09035851615 and 08144488165, purporting to have been authorized by the FRSC management, were added to their post.

“Disturbed by this trend, the management of the Federal Road Safety Corps wishes to discountenance itself from this criminal act and advises the general public especially, job seekers to disregard such unauthorized and mischievous publications as the Corps has no immediate arrangements to embark on any recruitment exercise”, Mr. Etuk said.

The statement advised the general public to note that the FRSC adopts open and genuine processes in conducting its recruitment exercise and publishes shortlisted candidates through numerous platforms like national dailies, Television and Radio stations, its website, official Facebook and twitter handle – @FRSCNigeria.

“The public is also advised to visit the corps’ official website www.frsc.gov.ng, www.fb.com/federalroadsafetycorps or use a toll free line 122 or 070022553772, 08077690055 and 08077690397 for any valid information”, the statement concluded.
