Ayew completed his move to Swansea on Wednesday afternoon

ANDRE Ayew has revealed Bafetimbi Gomis helped convince him to join English Premier League side Swansea City.

The Ghana striker signed a four-year deal at the Liberty after his contract at Marseille expired.

He arrives to bolster Garry Monkโ€™s attacking options and is likely to be competing with Gomis for game-time.

But that did not stop Swanseaโ€™s other Ligue 1 recruit from recommending that Ayew make the switch from France, just as he did a year earlier.

โ€œI spoke to Bafe, who really wanted me to come here,โ€ said Ayew.

โ€œHe told me about the clubโ€™s record season and also about the team spirit, manager, training, the players and how everyone is united.

โ€œThose are great things for me to hear. I know the squad will help me settle in and we will help each other to make Swansea a better team – thatโ€™s what is important.โ€
