The Obuobia Foundation has distributed 2, 500 mathematical sets to registered Junior High School candidates for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Weija-Gbawe constituency.
The donation, according to the Executive Director of the Foundation, Ms Obuobia Darko-Opoku, was to help the students prepare adequately for the impending BECE which is expected to commence on June 15, 2015.
She said the donation, which formed part of the foundation’s corporate social responsibility, would also go a long way in curbing wrongful cancellation of examination papers of candidates for allegedly engaging in examination malpractices such as exchanging mathematical sets.
‘The distribution of the mathematical sets will boost the confidence of these candidates in the examinations,’ Ms Darko-Opoku added.
The distribution of the mathematical sets, which started yesterday, will continue till Friday when all the BECE candidates in the over 70 schools in the Weija-Gbawe constituency would have received theirs.
Beneficiary Schools
Junior High Schools (JHS) in New Weija which will benefit from the charity include TechFam, Divine Grace, Blessed Generation, I Care Learning Centre, Roman, Most Free Heart, Morning Glory Academy, Restoration Academy, Blossom Lilly, Omega, Lamp of God, Joy Fills and King of Kings.
In Weija, Junior High Schools (JHS) such as Hope International School, HIPS Charity School, ASMAG International, Umariya Education, Paradise, Winners International, Chrisnel, St Joseph Basic School, Weija Methodist School, Weija D/A 1and Weija D/A 2 will also benefit from the donation.
Mallam schools expected to benefit are Living Faith, Princeton, Leicester, New Life, Princess International, Chelsea and Melster while New Gbawe Experimental 1, New Gbawe Experimental 2, New Gbawe D/A 1, New Gbawe D/A 2, New Gbawe D/A 3, New Gbawe D/A 4, Oregon, Vestava, Good Shepherd, Aggrey Memorial, ALOHA, Mary Marietta and L and A Memorial in New Gbawe will equally benefit.
The beneficiary schools from Oblogo include Amazing Love, Resurrection Khan, Blessed Bridge, Provident Sheet, Redeemer, Holy Cross, Osei TuTu, Omega, Oblogo D/A 1, Oblogo D/A 2 and Oblogo D/A 3.
