Heart of Lions owner Randy Abbey is praying against injury to the side as they look to maintain their strong start to the second half of the Premier League season.

The Kpando-based club thrashed champions Asante Kotoko over the weekend to get their second round campaign to a flying start.

Lions have however endured a 4-0 mauling at the hands of Kotoko in their final game of the first round.

That disastrous defeat has been widely attributed to the injuries that hit the Lions team before that game.

Club President Randy Abbey who has since been excited by the weekend win is hoping most of the players remain fit in order to sustain their impressive form.

‘We need consistency for this performance and also maintain the fitness of the players,’ he said.

‘We suffered about five bad injuries towards the end of the first round and that had an effect on the form of the team.

‘So going forward we hope the players remain fit so as to keep such a consistent performance.’
