Disrespectful: Togo coach questions Adebayor’s commitment

Head coach of the Hawks of Togo, Tom Saintfiet has revealed that he has not sacked Emmanuel Adebayor from the national team.

The Hawks of Togo are preparing for their impending AFCON 2017 qualifier against Liberia this Sunday in Lome and they will be without their skipper Emanuel Adebayor after the Tottenham striker failed to turn up in camp.

However, with the issue of Emmanuel Adebayor exclusion from the nationality team ahead of the qualifier, the coach of the side Tom Saintfiet says he was not responsible for Adebayors dismissal from the team’

‘I didn’t sack or suspend Adebayor, he sacked himself because he was not in camp when we started our preparation’, he told the press after his side 1-0 loss to Ghana in a friendly game.

‘I want committed players that are ready to die for the country; I selected the players that were in camp and Emmanuel Adebayor was not there so how do you expect me to work with a non-committed player.

‘Even it was not only Emmanuel Adebayor that failed to come to camp, Agasa and Floyd Ayite were all axed from the team because of the same reason’.

Togo is housed in group A, alongside, Liberia, Djibouti and Tunisia.
