West Ham United are closing in on the signing of Andre Ayew, according to The Telegraph.
Ayew is on the books of French club Marseille at the moment, but his current contract runs out at the end of the month.
The 25-year-old attacker is available on a free transfer, and Premier League outfit West Ham are keen on his services.
According to The Telegraph, West Ham are ‘closing in on a deal’ to sign the Ghana international, despite the fact that they have yet to appoint a new manager following the departure of Sam Allardyce at the end of the recently concluded 2014-15 season.
Ayew is a man in demand, as other Premier League clubs have been linked with a move for him in the summer transfer window.
Back in April, ESPN claimed that the Ghanaian is wanted by North London outfit Tottenham Hotspur.
ESPN also reported Everton and Newcastle United’s interest in the Ayew, but The Chronicle claimed at the weekend that the Magpies no longer want him because he does not represent good value for money.
Ayew scored 10 goals and created 22 chances in 28 Ligue 1 appearances in the 2014-15 season.
The attacker had a pass accuracy of 81% and a shot accuracy of 57%, and he won 63 headers, 39 dribbles and 47 tackles.
