Ghana U-23 goalkeeper Richard Ofori has received a late call up to train with the Black Stars ahead of the 2017 AFCON qualifying match against Mauritius on Sunday.
The Wa All Stars shot stopper was impressive for the Black Meteors as they sealed qualification to the All African Games to be staged in Congo and missed out of an opportunity to qualify for next year’s Olympic games in Brazil.
His performances caught the attention of the Black Stars technical team who have invited him to join goalkeeping duo Fatau Dauda and Ernest Sowah with Razak Brimah yet to report to camp.
Ofori will join the Black Stars squad on Tuesday, a day after Ghana takes on neighbors Togo in a friendly at the Accra Sports Stadium.
He will begin training with the senior national team on Tuesday ahead of Sunday’s qualifier.
