Asante Kotoko were defeated three goals to one by Heart of Lions at the Kpando Park on Sunday in the First Capital Plus Premier League.
Lions scored three goals through Osman Muntaka, Isaac Quansah and Prince Acquah, before Ahmed Toure gave Kotoko the consolation goal.
Osman Muntaka opened the scoring for Heart of Lions in the 26th minute, before Isaac Quansah doubled their lead back from recess, with Prince Acquah making goal number three.
Kotoko however pulled one back minutes after full time as striker Ahmed Toure converted from the spot to end the game at 3-1 in favour of the home side.
Ahead of the game, Lions were keen to avenge the 4-0 defeat they suffered to Kotoko in the last match of the first round and the win at home achieve their desires.
Lions have now leapfrogged over Kotoko and are now 7th on the League table while Kotoko have slipped to 9th on the log.
