On his way: David Accam heads to Black Stars camp after 4th Fire goal

David Accams 4th MLS goal was not enough to hand Chicago Fire a win against Kaka’s Orlando City in the United State’s Major League Soccer on Saturday evening as his side succumbed 2-3.

Accam who has earned rave reviews for his displays for Fire in his first season in America, gave the assist for Nigerian, Kennedy Igboananike to put Fire ahead on nine minutes at the Toyota Park in Illinois but the team went into the half time break level following Brazilian, Adailton’s own goal after 40 minutes.

The Ghanaian hitman was however on hand to give his side the lead again in the 57th minute but Orlando equalised again with 8 minutes left before Adailton’s second own goal of the game sealed all three points for Kaka and company.

Meanwhile Accam flew out of the US on Sunday to join his national teammates in camp in Accra for Ghana’s date with Mauritius in an AFCON 2017 qualifier at the national wembley.

Despite several call-ups, 24 year old Accam only made his official Black Stars debut on Jan. 19, 2015 in the 2015 AFCON group match against Senegal and earned his second cap in a friendly with Mali on March 31, 2015.

Accam’s terrific form for his club side if translated to the stars camp will make him a favourite to start for Avram Grant’s men, the Right to Dream Academy graduate scoring four goals in 8 starts in MLS where his overall performance is what has wowed the Chicago Fire faithful.
