NADMO presents items to Police; 37 Military Hospitals

Accra, June 8, GNA – The National Disaster and Management Organization (NADMO) has presented medical and assorted valued at GH¢26,000.00 to the Police and 37 Military Hospitals to cater for flood and fire victims on admission.

The items include four bundles each of mackintosh sheets, 200 pieces each of chlorhexidine gauze dressing, 15 packets each of disposable packs, many packets of disposable spoons, cups and plates.

Ex-WOI Mama Hanson, the Medical Officer in-Charge at NADMO Clinic, who presented the items on behalf of the Organisation, expressed the hope that they would go a long way to assist the two hospitals to deliver quality health care to the victims.

Major General Ebenezer Tandoh, the Administrator at 37 Military Hospital, thanked NADMO for the support throughout the years.

He said the items came at an opportune time so they would be used for their intended purpose.

He, therefore, urged individuals, organisations and corporate bodies to emulate the gesture.

At the Police Hospital, DCOP Dr Iddi Musah, Head of Ambulances and Emergency Response and Police Unit Medical Coordinator, expressed the management’s gratitude for the gesture.

He said currently the hospital needed food items and inflatable sprints to treat those with fractured bones and appealed to the public and corporate bodies to go to their assistance to save peoples’ lives.

Nearly 200 people lost their lives while many others were severely injured during the June 3, torrential rains and the fire outbreak at the GOIL Filling Station at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle.

According to NADMO, they are collaborating with other stakeholders to collate the actual number of deaths and injured by the close of Monday, June 8.
