Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has urged absolute support for the team during the 2017 Nations Cup qualifier against Mauritius on June 14.
The Black Stars return to the Accra sports stadium for the first time in two years to host a competitive match.
The capital city has historically not been a good grounds for the Black Stars, with Kumasi having pride of place due to a seeming better atmosphere it offers the team.
However, Gyan expects the fans to turn up in their numbers at the Accra Sports Stadium to ensure victory over their Mauritius conterparts.
“We can’t afford to disappoint our fans at home in Accra. I will plead with everybody to troop to the Accra stadium and support us [Black Satrs],” Gyan told Allsports.com.gh exclusively.
“It’s been a while we played in Accra and i know the fans in Accra have missed us so we won’t disgrace them. We need massive support on Sunday.”
The last time the Stars played a qualifier in Accra was on September 8, 2012 when they beat Malawi 2-0 en route to qualifying for the 2013 Afcon.
