Governors, Others Commiserate With Obasanjo At Younger Sister’s Burial

olusegun-obasanjoFormer and serving Governors, as well as past government functionaries thronged Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital yesterday for the burial of Madam Adunni Eweje-Obasanjo, the younger sister of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Madam Eweje, as she was fondly called, passed away on May19 at the age of 76.

Shortly after the funeral service which held at the Owu Baptist Church in Abeokuta, personalities across and outside the country converged on the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, venue of the burial reception, to condole with the ex-president.

Dignitaries at the hilltop mansion of Chief Obasanjo, included Oyo State governor, Sen Abiola Ajimobi; his predecessor, Otunba Alao Akala; former Osun State governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola.

The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ade Abolurin; the newly elected president of African Development Bank (AfDB) and immediate past Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Akinwunmi Adeshina and the immediate Senior Special Assistant to Ogun State Governor on Environment, Otunba Yomi Odunowo.
