Hearts’ comeback dream dashed in Esperance draw

Accra Hearts of Oak’s dream for a miracle turned into a mirage after they were booted out of the Confederations Cup by Esperance of Tunisia.

The Phobians were seeking for five unanswered goals to overturn a 4-0 deficit they suffered in the first leg tie two weeks ago.

And when Isaac Mensah put the Phobians ahead as early as the 4th minute with a header, the Phobians looked poised for the biggest comeback.

But it was not to be. The visitors came back strongly in the second half with Wassim drawing level for Esperance.

The hope of having a Ghanaian team in Africa is all but gone.
