Joy FM sets up ‘Missing Person’s hotline’ to assist families find relatives

Joy 99.7 FM has set up a ‘Missing Persons Hotline’ to assist families whose relatives have gone missing as a result of Wednesday’s heavy rains that caused an unprecedented flood in parts of Accra.

Some families have been posting photos of their relatives who have gone missing since Wednesday on social media site Facebook. .

Anyone who is yet to find their family member can contact Joy FM’s front desk on 0302 216540.

Pictures and other relevant information can also be sent to Joy FM’s WhatsApp number 0244 340 437.

Also details of the missing person can be sent to Facebook.com/Joy99.7fm and @joy997fm #missing persons on Twitter.

The information sent will be used to contact authorities who will then help identify where the missing person might be located.

Families can also contact the generic 112 emergency number for assistance.

Joy FM’s ‘Ghana Connect’ programme which will be aired this evening at 6:00 pm will be dedicated to this search.

It is estimated that about 200 people have lost their lives as a result of the floods and the subsequent explosion at a GOIL petrol station at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle.

The floods have destroyed properties worth millions of cedis.

A Ȼ50 and Ȼ60 million fund have been set up by both government and GOIL to assist victims and their dependants.
