Another bid: West Ham make second offer for Andre Ayew

West Ham have made a second, bigger offer for Marseille winger Andre Ayew, according to BBC Sport.

The Ghana international is out of contract at the end of this month and looks destined to leave the French club for free.

The Hammers are battling Spurs and Roma for his signature and have made a second improve offer to try and get the deal over the line as soon as possible.

David Sullivan is taking control of transfers with no manager in place and has already added Darren Randolph to the squad, with another ‘big name’ promised in the next week or so.

Marseille manager Marcelo Bielsa is one of West Ham’s managerial targets and the Hammers are hoping to speak with him before the start of next week.

Bielsa has already seen one of his key men Jeremy Morel leave the club for rivals Lyon and top scorer Andre-Pierre Gignac along with wide man Ayew are out of contract too.

With his squad missing out on the Champions League and now being decimated by transfers, Bielsa could also jump ship with the Hammers keen.

Unai Emery is expected to turn down the Hammers and so Slaven Bilic and Bielsa are seen as the front runners.

Sullivan though is focusing on transfers as well as a new manager, with the Hammers having their first game of the season in four weeks as the Europa League kicks off.
