Revealed: Juju woman aided Kotoko to win league titles

An admirer of Dr. Desmond Kofi Kodua Sarpong has indicated that the love of the former executive chairman for Asante Kotoko influenced his decision to host a sorceress for 3-months to guide the Ghana champions spiritually during his tenure of office.

The former Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) boss has been criticized by several Kotoko faithfuls for not having the club at heart, following his decision to sue the club for owing him several thousands of cedis.

However, Kofi Asante who is a loyalist of Dr. K.K Sarpong has revealed that contrary to what the Kotoko supporters think about the former chairman; he [K.K Sarpong] did several things for the Porcupine Warriors against his faith due to his love for the team.

‘Dr. K.K Sarpong is staunch Kotoko supporter and I don’t think anyone loves the club than he does,’ he told Happy fm.

‘During his time as chairman of Kotoko, he defied his faith as a Catholic and hired a ‘Juju’ Woman from Nkoranza, whom he hosted for three months in his apartment in Kumasi.

‘This woman ate sausage in the morning, tilapia in the afternoon and jollof rice and chicken in the evening. This was the case of a sorceress who had taste for good food and would also sing some traditional gospel song in the morning, which was strange of her,’ he revealed.

‘I quite remember in a game against Hearts of Oak in Kumasi, Dr. Sarpong called her when the game was heading towards a 1-1 draw, before Michael Akuffo’s stunner in added time won the day for Kotoko.

‘The Juju woman was paid GHC20,000 and was bought a car after helping Kotoko to win the league title and all these expenses came from the pocket of Dr. K.K Sarpong; [but there are no receipts on these],’ Asante added.

The former executive chairman took charge of Kotoko in 2010 and won the Ghana Premier League on two occasions, before he resigned in 2013. His resignation came on the back of some misunderstanding with the life patron and owner of the club, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene.

Dr. Sarpong will face Kotoko again in the law court in his attempt to retrieve some monies he lent the league champions that aided them to get busy in the transfer market during his tenure of office.
