Poll: Allsports readers happy about Blatter’s resignation

Reaction from around the globe to Fifa president, Sepp Blatter’s resignation on Tuesday have been fluid and all of joy and happiness.

In a text poll conducted on Allsports.com.gh; the question “Are you happy Sepp Blatter has stepped down as Fifa President? ” was asked.

And 64 percent  of voters voted ‘Yes’ whiles 36 percent of voters voted No. Also some of the world’s top members of the football fraternity also shared their views on twitter on Sepp Blatter’s decision to step down as president of the association. Below are some of the tweets. 

”A good day for FIFA and for football … Change is finally coming. I said on Friday that the day would come sooner or later. Here it is! Now we should, responsibly and calmly, find a consensual solution worldwide in order to start new era of dynamism, transparency and democracy in FIFA.” – Former Portugal great and one-time FIFA presidential candidate Luis Figo said.

”I think that it is the right move from Sepp Blatter and I think we have to look to the future … I am at the disposal of all the national associations who want a change, including all of those who were afraid to make a change.” – Jordan’s Prince Ali bin al-Hussein, who lost to Blatter in last Friday’s election also noted.

”It is a good afternoon. I think it’s brilliant for world football. This is the start of something new.” – England’s Football Association chairman Greg Dyke twittered too.
