Queens seek win over Egypt

Accra, May 29, GNA – The Black Queens of Ghana will host the Lady Pharaohs of Egypt in search of a ticket for a maiden appearance at the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil next year.

The Black Queens managed a 1-1 draw with their opponent away in the first leg fixture of the second round qualifiers of the competition last weekend.

Coach Yussif Basigi’s charges have a huge advantage ahead of the second leg after holding the North Africans and a win in the second encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday will mean progress to the next stage.

Though the Queens are tagged as favourites to win the tie, the visitors have grown in confidence following the unexpected result in the first leg last weekend.

Basigi is expected to parade the likes of Jane Ayieyam, Portia Boakye and Rosemary Ampem to topple their guest.

The team with the highest aggregate score over the two legs will meet the victor of the match involving Guinea Bissau and Cameroon at the third round of the qualifiers.
