Arsenal are reportedly lining up a surprise £5million bid for Leicester City’s Jeffrey Schlupp.
The pacey 22-year-old was key to keeping the Foxes in the Premier League this season, earning the club’s Young Player of the Year as well as the Players’ Player of the Year award.
According to the Express, his performances this season have attracted Arsene Wenger’s interest, who is understood be preparing a £5million bid for his services.
Schlupp’s versatility is thought to be a factor in Arsenal’s interest, with his ability to play on the left side of defence, in midfield or even upfront a major part of his appeal.
Former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson saw the potential in Schlupp after he offered him a trial in 2013, but the Ghana international instead opted for first-team football at the King Power Stadium after his month’s stay at Carrington.
