COSAFA tournament: Local Black Stars to play tough game against Madagascar

Head coach of the local Black Stars, Maxwell Konadu says he expects a tough game between his side and Madagascar in the quarter finals in the ongoing COSAFA cup tourney being staged in South Africa.

Madagascar battled for a 1-1 draw with Swaziland to seal a qualification into the quarter final with a superior goal difference as the two were leveled on 7 points in Group B setting a date with the local Black Stars of Ghana on Monday 25 May, 2015.

Ahead of the game, head coach of Ghana, Maxwell Konadu has stated that he expects a difficult encounter.

“It won’t be easy. The southern part of Africa has a unique style of play and they have talents in abundance here,” Konadu said at the pre match press conference.

“I know the match is going to be very interesting but the best side [will] carry the day.”

Konadu believes that the current players at the camp of local Black Stars are capable of exhibiting good football.

“We have brought young guys who we know have a good future. They are here to have a feel of the competition and to show what they can also do.”

“It may not be our main national team but this team is also very formidable and talented,’ coach Konadu noted.

“I think Ghana was invited because of the good football we play and we are here to live up to expectations.”

“It’s our first time here and we think we can also do something in this very important tournament,” he concluded.
