Heritage Theatre Series to be launched today

The Heritage Theatre Series is set to be launched this evening at The African Regent Hotel. The productions, written and produced by Chief Moomen, will re-enact the history of Ghana from ancient to modern times through a series of plays.

The Launch Ceremony would be used to unveil the first of the plays to be staged this July. The ceremony would be graced by some ministers of state, Unilever Ghana executives and other high profile personalities. Performances are expected from some seasoned artists in the country.

According to Chief Moomen, the Heritage Theatre Series would help tell the story of Ghana better.

“Essentially we need to own and tell our stories. We need to excite popular interest in our history and also to promote unity and tolerance. Also, this production seeks to provide an opportunity for the youth in the creative arts to express themselves better and provide jobs,” he said.

The Heritage Theatre Series would employ over 150 people in various roles. It is sponsored by Key Soap.
