All is set: Local Black Stars arrive in South Africa for COSAFA tourney

Local based Black Stars of Ghana arrived safely [Friday morning] in South Africa for this year’s COSAFA tournament. The West Africa side will play their first game on the 24th May, 2014.

Ghana’s team will be based in Rustenburg and they will be awaiting the winner in Group B which has countries like Lesotho, Madagascar, Swaziland and Tanzania.

Notable names in the 20 man squad selected by the head coach of the side, Maxwell Konadu include, regular Black Stars shot stopper, Fatau Dauda and the leading goal scorer in the Ghana Premier league, Nathaniel Asamoah.

Ghana’s squad for the COSAFA cup tourney:

Goalkeepers: Mozart Adjetey (Heart of Lions), Fatau Dauda (AshantiGold), Stephen Adams (Aduana Stars)

Defenders: Godfred Saka (Aduana Stars), Joshua Tijani (AshantiGold), Emmanuel Asante (Asante Kotoko), Ahmed Adams (Asante Kotoko), Asiamah Badu (Heart of Lions), Abeiku Ainooson (Asante Kotoko), Alfred Nelson (Liberty Professionals)

Midfielders: Zakari Mumuni (WAFA), Michael Akuffo (Asante Kotoko), Isaac Twum (Heart of Lions), Hans Kwofie (Medeama), Bernard Morrison (AshantiGold), Daniel Darkwah (Aduana Stars), Malik Akowuah (Medeama)

Strikers: Kwame Boateng (Great Olympics), Yakubu Mohammed (AshantiGold), Nathaniel Asamoah (Medeama).

Maxwell Konadu side will be using the tournament as a preparatory grounds for the 2016 CHAN qualifies schedule to start this year.
