Glico presents GH¢250,000 worth of insurance package to Black Satellites ahead of World Cup

GLICO Ghana has presented an insurance package worth GH¢250, 000 to the Black Satellites ahead of the FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand later this month.

The insurance firm also gave out a donation worth GH¢50,000 to the team to support their preparation the competition which will be held from May 30 –June 20.

The package which is meant to motivate the national U-20 team will also cushion them as they prepare to play their hearts out at the tournament.

For each winning goal at the group stage of the competition, Glico has also promised to give the team an amount of GH¢500 while each winning goal at the knockout stages will attract an amount of GH¢600 and a winning goal in the final match attracting an GH¢800 cedis.

GLICO also pledged to host the Black Satellites to a banquet and give the team an undisclosed bonus if they win the competition.

GFA General Secretary Mr. Emmanuel Gyimah who received the cheque and insurance certificate on behalf of the team, expressed optimism that the Satellites will excel at the tournament.

“I have no doubt that with the preparation that the Black Satellites have had for this tournament, they will excel and will bring back positive news from Nigeria”.

“We therefore thank GLICO for this gesture towards the Black Satellites.We are very much appreciative of GLICO’s support for our national teams over the years”.

“And ahead of the competition which begins at the end of this month, we call on all Ghanaians to offer the team all the needed support to help them bring glory to Ghana”, Mr. Gyimah said at the presentation ceremony held at the GFA secretariat.

Ghana’s Black Satellites who are the only African nation to win the competition, have been paired in Group B of the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup Argentina, Austria and Panama.
