GFA lifts ban on Asempa FM

The Ghana Football Association has rescinded its decision to boycott Accra based radio station, Asempa 94.7 FM.

This decision was taken after officials of the radio station approached the GFA for an amicable settlement of the issue and for the Football Association to restore its mutually beneficial relationship with the media house.

At its meeting on Tuesday May 19, the GFA Executive Committee accepted this request with an assurance from the radio station that it will continue to uphold its high ethical and journalistic standards.

โ€œThe Executive Committee has accepted Asempa FM’s request for the GFA to restore its relationship with their station. This decision means the GFA and its officials will now be available for interviews and will appear on sports programs of the stationโ€, GFA Spokesperson Ibrahim Sanni Daara told Ghanafa.org after Tuesday’s ExCo meeting.

The GFA announced its decision to boycott the station at a press conference held in November last year due to unfair reportage and verbal attacks on key officials of the GFA by some presenters of station.
