GFA ExCo to meet PFAG over proposal on player salaries, other benefits

The Ghana Football Association Executive Committee has called for a meeting with the Professional Football Association of Ghana (PFAG) over its proposal on minimum salary caps for players.

At its Executive Committee meeting held on Tuesday May 19, the GFA deliberated on a proposal brought before it by the PFAG on standard contracts, pension schemes, insurance packages and minimum salary caps for players in the First Capital Plus Premier League.

The EXCO has therefore agreed to meet the PFAG to identify ways to resolving the issue of inadequate player salaries, pension schemes etc.

The issue of inadequate Player salaries and other benefits to players have been cited as some of the reasons for the player exodus from the Ghana Premier League, depriving the local league of the needed talent.
