Sixteen (16) plus models have received the nod to take part in Exopa Modelling Agency’s upcoming annual L Fashion event scheduled for July 24.
The L Fashion Night is a runway event exclusively for plus size models. It was introduced by the modelling agency in 2008. It has since brought some innovations to Ghana’s runway events. It has also propped up the quest for African fabrics while nurturing plump models.
Over the weekend, the agency held auditions for this year’s event. After a rigorous selection process, 16 models went through.
‘We believe in giving everybody a chance on the runway, irrespective of your size. The most important thing is you having the passion for it and all that is needed is, we groom you. We had 16 models for July’s show and we’re hopeful of putting up another amazing show,’ Abu Ibrahim of Exopa said yesterday.
Meanwhile, the upcoming event will be Exopa’s first runway event after CEO Sima Ibrahim passed on, and will be used to celebrate his memory.
Last year’s L Fashion Night came off in August 2014 amidst interesting performances by upcoming musicians and dancers. There were amazing African fabric designs on display by Nallem Clothing, Allan David and graduates from the Joyce Ababio College of Creative Designs, including Lina’s Cut, Josiah, Twinkle Collection and KF Tailoring.
