BET Awards nomination another milestone – Stonebwoy

Dancehall artiste, Livingstone Etse Satekla, known in showbiz as Stonebwoy, says he is grateful for earning a nomination at this year’s Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards.

Stonebwoy and rapper Sarkodie received nominations in the Best International Act: Africa category for the 2015 edition of the awards.

The list of nominees for this year’s event, which will officially kick off on June 25 and climax on June 28 with the awards night in Los Angeles, USA, were released Monday.

The two artistes will battle AKA (South Africa), Fally Ipupa (DR Congo), Sauti Sol (Kenya), The Soil (South Africa), Wizkid (Nigeria) and Yemi Alade (Nigeria) for the award.

The ‘Baafira’ hit singer, who is enjoying a successful year in music, said on Twitter Tuesday that the nomination is another milestone in his career.

“I’m Grateful God.. Another Milestone! #BETAwards,” he said with the hope of bagging the award to add to his trophy shelf.

In April this year, Stonebwoy was crowned Artiste of the Year at the Ghana Music Awards.

Apart from the Artiste of the Year award, he also adjudged the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year while his song ‘Baafira’ won the Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year.
