Amosun Inaugurates Transition Committee, Insists on Low Key Event

Ibikunle AmosunGovernor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State has inaugurated a transition committee that would ensure a second term inauguration ceremony for him, as he gets sworn-in on May 29.

Amosun, who performed the inauguration at his Oke-Mosan office, Abeokuta on Monday, tasked members of the committee to leverage on their professional capacity to come up with a ceremony that will be a reference point.

The Committee consists of seven sub-committees including Media, Programme content, Protocol, Entertainment, Logistics, Security and Venue management.

It also has a coordinating committee chaired by the Deputy Governor-Elect, Yetunde Onanuga, with Secretary to the State Government, Taiwo Adeoluwa, Head of Service, Mrs Modupe Adekunle, and Chief of Staff as members.

The governor, however, emphasized that the ceremony would be low key in light of the economic situation in the country.

“I want you to leverage on your professional capacity to ensure a befitting but not elaborate ceremony, such that would be a template for the future.

”It is not about us but the people of the State. Selfless service should be your watch word in this laudable assignment”, he said.

Chairman of the Committee, Mrs Onanuga, assured that members would discharge their duties beyond expectation.
