Ace journalist Kwabena Yeboah blasts Sulley Muntari’s defiance in sending apology to Ghana FA

Seasoned Ghanaian sports journalist Kwabena Yeboah doesn’t understand why it is taking Sulley Muntari so long to apologize for his role in the shameful episode in Ghana’s disappointing campaign at the 2014 World Cup.

The 30-year-old was sacked from the Black Stars after his infamous attack on a management committee member at the height of agitation by players over the delayed payment of their appearance fee.

Muntari has since been handed an indefinite ban by the Ghana FA who are demanding a formal apology from the AC Milan midfielder before considering his return to the team.

The former Portsmouth man has however refused to send in this apology almost one-year on from the shameful experience in Brazil.

Veteran Ghanaian sports journalist Kwabena Yeboah is at a loss as to why Muntari has refrained from doing the right thing by issuing an apology.

“I don’t know why it is taking so long for Sulley Muntari to apologize,” he told Angel FM.

“In this part of our world, we see apologies as a sign of weakness rather than strength.

“There is absolutely no way that Muntari was right in that episode in Brazil.

“It is therefore sad that for a player who had played key roles for the national team will bow out like this.”
