Transfer Update: De Gea will not leave us easily – Louis van Gaal

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea might have played his last game for the Old Trafford club on Sunday against Arsenal.

The Spain international who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid was subbed during the game due to an injury and took to twitter to thank the ‘unbelievable’ Manchester United fans.

Manager Louis van Gaal refused to rule out a departure of the goalkeeper who went to all four corners of the pitch at Old Trafford to thank fans ahead of the last United home game of the season.

Van Gaal said:
‘I analyse his position and then I say he is Spanish, he is Spanish international, still behind (Iker) Casillas, now a Spanish club is coming, his girlfriend is Spanish, his father and mother come here every week or every two weeks so it is difficult.

‘He shall not leave us so easily because we have a great club. But he can go to another great club and that is for him to decide.

‘We have given a fantastic contract because we want him to stay. I think he has had a fantastic season.

‘I don’t think I can persuade him because he knows everything that he has at that moment in Manchester United. I don’t have to say something in benefit of Manchester United because he can feel it every day.

‘You have seen the fans – unbelievable. When he is going, he is losing that. Here he has a lot of credits. He has to decide.’

Wolfsburg chief executive has disclosed former Chelsea midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is ‘unsellable’. English Premier League club Manchester City have been reported to be interested in signing the £40 million rated 23-year-old.

Qatar club Al Gharafa have offered Manchester City player Yaya Toure £8 million to finish his career with them, the Sun reports.

The club is yet to sit down with the Ivory Coast international to discuss his future at the end of the season according to City boss Manuel Pellegrini.
