Leaders arriving for ECOWAS Summit


Accra, May 18, GNA – African leaders, attending the 47th Ordinary Session of the Authority of ECOWAS Heads of State in Accra, have started arriving in the country.

Already in the country for the summit are President Ibrahim Bubakar Keita of Mali, President Michel Kufando of Burkina Faso and President Sirleaf Johnson of Liberia.

The Presidents were each met on arrival by Vice President Amissah Arthur.

The Heads of state respectively mounted the Presidential Dais upon arrival, and took their respective national salutes.

Each of the leaders inspected a guard of honor, mounted by officers and men from the Ghana Navy, with the Navy Regimental Band in attendance, under the command of Lt. (GN) Justice Kufuor.

The 47th Ordinary Session of the Authority of ECOWAS Heads of State, begins tomorrow, Tuesday, May 19th, in Accra.
