Accra Great Olympics secured a 2-0 win over Liberty Professionals in their Elite Cup opening group match at the Karl Reindolf Park on Sunday.
And assistant coach Kamal Okansi says the win was a morale booster for his team as they prepare for the second round of the First Capital Plus Bank Premier League.
‘The win is a morale booster for the club because the Elite cup is a platform for us to assess other players who have not had enough game time,” he said in post match press interaction.
“Some of the players are good but have not been playing regularly, so we use these kinds of competitions as an opportunity to check their conditions and find out whether they are ready for the league.
“We don’t just make changes in our line ups for matches because the result doesn’t matter but is to check the condition of our players for future matches,” he added.
