A fun club in honour of the wife of Hon. Inusah Fuseini, MP for Tamale Central Constituency and Minister of Roads and Highways has been successfully inaugurated in the constituency.
The theme for the ceremony which was dubbed ‘UNITED WOMEN’S FRONT, A KEY TO VICTORY 2016’ saw the outdooring of the club which is expected to collaborate with the women’s wing in the constituency to ensure that the MP and H.E John Dramani Mahama are retained in the 2016 parliamentary and presidential elections respectively.
The programme was grazed by a number of high profile personalities in the NDC and beyond, notably were the MP for the Area, Hon. Inusah Fuseini, the Northern Regional Communication Officer of the NDC, General Amin, the Regional youth organizer, Alhaji Mohammed Aminu Adam, the Vice Chairman – Alhaji Omar Farouk and a host of other executives from the regional to constituency level.
Giving her inaugural speech at the launch, Mrs. Inisah Fuseini (Hajia Khasida) thanked members of the Fun club for the bold initiative taken to advance the interest of the NDC in the constituency and the region at large.
The Constituency Women Organiser also expressed regret about the eight parliamentary seats in the region that were lost to the main opposition in the 2012 election and urged the group to extend it’s scope of operations beyond Tamale Central Constituency to include all constituencies in the region to ensure a 100% win for the NDC both in the parliamentary and presidential in 2016.
She called on women in the region to take their rightful place in the political administration of the constituency and the country by actively participating in all party activities that were hitherto the reserve of men in politics.
Alhaji Omar Farouk, on behalf of the Regional Chairman entreated the women to champion the campaign in the region. He commended them for taking the lead, and assured them of the party’s commitment in improving their economic status. He adviced all to be patient and work tirelessly with the Member of Parliament and His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama to ensure smooth victory come 2016.
The regional Women’s Orginiser of the NDC In the region expressed her gratitude to Hajia Khasida and the women’s wing in the constituency for taking the lead and stated her resolve to replicate it in other constituencies to unite women in the region under one umbrella for victory 2016.
Hon. Inusah Fuseini on his part could not hide his joy when he mounted the podium to address the electrified akatamansonians. He begun by thanking the constituents for the enormous support and cooperation that they have given him and the NDC over the years and called on them not to relent on their support and prayers for the John Mahama led administration.
He further assured that, the president is working day and night to resolve the energy crisis that has bedevilled this country and all the challenges faced by the citizenry’ Hon. Inusah added. He concluded by announcing that, funds were ready for the construction of furniture and other maintenance work in ‘Kuli kuli school’ to help enhance teaching and learning.
Other speakers at the programme were the famous Regional Youth Organiser – Hajj Abio, Regional Treasurer – Tanko-Rashid Computer and Deputy Regional Secretary – Hon. Sualisu Biawuribe.
