77 Die In Road Accidents In Osun

The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) in Osun, today said about 77 people died from road traffic crashes in the state between January and April.

According to Muhammad Husaini, Osun Sector Commander, a total of 94 crashes involving 750 persons occurred in the state within the period under review.

“Most accidents on the road are caused by human errors, recklessness and impatience,” he told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

“Drivers, especially commercial drivers, should maintain sound vehicle engines, good tyres, good wipers and other mechanization needed to keep their vehicles sound and accident-free at all times,” Hussaini said.

He said that the commission would not relent in apprehending traffic rules violators and advised motorists, especially commercial drivers, to always obey traffic rules to avert accidents.
