Borussia Dortmund’s American-Ghanaian starlet Joseph-Claude Gyau has taken to Twitter to mourn his grandfather who passed on Thursday in the United States of America.

According to his son Phillip, a former U.S. national team player and the current head coach of the Howard University men’s team, his father died from colon cancer.

Joe Gyau, who is one of the grandchildren of the former Black Stars player, took to Twitter to express his feels about the demise of the ex-Ghana star. He expressed courage and said he will carry the torch of his lineage.

“RIP [Grandfather] I’ll carry on the torch,” he tweeted.

Gyau, currently injured at German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund, is one of three Agyeman Gyau grandchildren playing football.

His sister Mia Gyau is also a footballer with the American youth female team.
