90 minutes to EPL: Middlesbrough’s road to Wembley; Adomah plays part with a goal


The English Premier League is arguably the most watched league in the world. And Albert Adomah wants to play in it.

The Ghanaian and his Middlesbrough side slightly missed out on a straight qualification to the Premier League and were tied against Brentford in the first qualification play-off games.

Middlesbrough gave a firm statement of intent in their first leg game away at Brentford, beating the home side then by two goals to one. Albert Adomah played a key role in that game, masterminding Middlesbrough first goal.

Then Friday night was the night to book a ticket to Wembley. The night to secure a chance to play in the Championship final of finals with a reward of participating in the grand English Premier League next season.

Middlesbrough turned up to their home game in style, and Albert Adomah was up to the task too.

Brentford were hammered some three goals without reply, crushing their Premier League hopes until the 2016/2017 season.

Lee Tomlin scored the opener for Middlesbrough in the first half with two second half goals from Kike and Albert Adomah rounding off a 5-1 aggregate scoreline for a final Premier League chance at Wembley.

The Ghanaian played in the full duration of the game against Brentford on Friday night.
