The facility in the bush
Weeds, Bats and snakeshave taken over the ICT training centre which was built by the NDC government purposely to train youth in ICT at Koforidua, DAILY GUIDE has gathered.
Commissioned a year ago by the Minister of Communications, Dr Edward Omane-Boamah, the centre cannot even boast of single computer; rendering it completely as a white elephant.
Abdul Razak Osman Adams, Communications Director in-charge of Eastern Youth Network, expressed his worry about the situation in an interview with DAILY GUIDE, explaining how the centre which was established for the purpose of enhancing the knowledge of the youth in ICT has been left to rot.
Some residents who live close to the facility complained bitterly about how the bushy nature of the place was posing as a threat to their lives.
They further appealed to authorities to quickly find a better way of keeping the place tidied.
Meanwhile, when DAILY GUIDE contacted the New Juaben Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Dr Owusu-Acheampong, he mentioned that not much could be done on his part to deal with the situation because the facility wasn’t handed over to the assembly.
